Experimental Ale Series #2

This Orvyn-styled Complex White Ale is a refined small-batch creation brewed with premium malt sourced from South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. Known for its clean air, coastal soils, and abundant sunlight, the region produces barley of exceptional quality, bringing depth and purity to the ale. The beer draws inspiration from the Orvyn tradition of layered, contemplative white ales, balancing freshness with structural complexity.

Crafted with meticulous attention to malt expression, the ale delivers both elegance and intrigue. It is designed to be savored slowly, revealing nuances as it warms in the glass.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Golden-straw with a soft haze, crowned by a fine, persistent white head.
Aroma: Citrus peel and white flowers upfront, lifted by gentle spice and subtle herbal tones. Underneath lies a core of clean malt, with faint honey and raw cereal notes from the Eyre Peninsula grain.
Palate: Silky and medium-bodied with layers of flavor. Bright citrus and stone fruit mingle with coriander seed and clove-like spice. The malt base provides a rounded sweetness, countered by a firm mineral line and gentle phenolic complexity.
Finish: Long and evolving, moving from citrus zest and malt sweetness into a dry, slightly peppery close that invites another sip.

Barley region matters,
we know best.

The flavour of Grand Cru Ale starts in the ground.

Barley grown in different regions like the Barossa, McLaren Vale or the Adelaide Hills develops unique characteristics based on the soil, climate, and season. These differences carry through the malting and brewing process, shaping how the final ale tastes. It’s the same idea as wine: place changes everything.
